porcelain, plastic, led light, arduino..... / +/-30cm / 2011 Fireflies are ceiling lights that respond to movement. The colour of their light changes according to the height of the person below. Fireflies can be used either individually or as a part of a larger cluster. They come in two shapes inspired by insect forms. Inside their porcelain bodies are LED lights that shine through at varying intensities. The LED lights and plastic wings are controlled by Arduino, an open-source electronics prototyping platform. All is quiet and Fireflies are at rest.
